FICS Web Client

This is a browser-based client for the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS) — one of the oldest and largest free online chess servers, with thousands of players online around the clock.

To play rated games you need a free FICS account. Register a handle at freechess.org, then enter your username and password above and click Connect. You can also connect as a guest (leave both fields blank) to observe games and explore the server, but guest accounts cannot play rated games or save preferences.

Once connected, type help for a list of commands, or seek to advertise a game.
